A not so guilty confession!

Asian man sat at a table in the sunshine writing a list of tasks completed

I recently realised I’ve got a ‘bad’ productivity habit.

It’s quite the confession.

I’m guilty of adding things to my GDA list AFTER I’ve done them just so I can tick them off.

I think I might be addicted to ticking things off.

There’s a sense of completeness, satisfaction and most of all – progress.

And progress towards something meaningful is success.

Maybe I like to feel successful.

The dopamine hit certainly feels good.

The other thing I’ve found myself doing is re writing all my completed tasks at the end of the day to create a ‘to done’ list.  A further reinforcement of progress made.

Anytime you’re making progress is a good thing.  However small.  As long as it’s in a worthwhile direction of your own choosing.

I’ve decided not to feel guilty about it.  Making progress isn’t something to feel guilty about.

Proud, maybe even a little smug.

This summer will be spent reflecting on the last year’s progress and tweaking the direction we’re going in.  It’ll be spent creating plans to achieve those goals and measures to track that progress.

If you fancy joining me, let me know.  We’ll pull together a plan for you too.

One you can tick off and feel smug about.

I promise it will make a difference.  In fact, I’m so confident it will, I’ll 100% guarantee it.
