I don’t have the time

I love the August Bank Holiday weekend.

Not because it’s guaranteed to rain or because it’s an extra day off (I can take those whenever I want).

Because it’s the time of year Kay and I plan the next year.

It might seem crazy thinking about 2024 whilst we’re still in August but I’ve always done it and for a few reasons.

I know the goals and plans we set will change as we mull them over so if I did that in January or even December, I’d already have lost several weeks of the year – eating into implementation time.

We like to know for sure that the important, non-urgent elements of our lives are agreed, set out and diarised.

Things like holidays, QPR matches, golf trips.  We’ll look at the international cricket fixtures, decide which friends we want to visit and create the space to do all of it.  Even if we don’t know where we’re going, the holidays will be in the diary and Kay will have requested leave.

Then the business stuff gets put in.  Our monthly meetings, socials, regular networking, further planning days, team meetings and time with the accountant.

It’s all high level, no real detail but we create the architecture from which the detail can be added.

The benefits are huge.

We know we have things to look forward to.  We know in advance we will see friends and family.

We know that “we do have the time”.

Because if I had a penny for every time a business owner said to me “I don’t have the time” – I’d be very wealthy.

We all have the time.

It’s what we CHOOSE to do with it that matters.

It’s whether you allow your day to happen to you or plan it to work for you.

It’s something I’ve been doing for 20 + years now.  It works and if you’re interested, I can show you how to do it too.

Invest half a day with me, I’ll give you a 10, 20 or even 30-day return.

Hit reply and we’ll make it happen – unless you don’t have the time of course…
