Slow down to speed up

Asian man looking disgruntled

It’s the traffic on the morning dog walk that gives it away.

The schools are back in town.

Mums in 4 x 4’s with one child zipping up our single-track lane, screeching to a halt as they come across us around a blind bend.

I take great pleasure in getting the dogs under control without having to bury myself (in shorts) in the hedge composed of brambles and shoulder high nettles. All whilst they wait, fingers tapping on the steering wheel, faces convoluted into a face worthy of luck and flaw’s spitting image fame,

Then there’s the 6.15-man racer who thinks beeping his horn 7 times as he goes round the bend is easier than just slowing down.

At least I don’t need an alarm clock.

The near misses with walkers, dog walkers and horses are frequent and scary – all because people are in a rush.

It never ceases to amaze me that although everyone KNOWS what time school starts, they’re always late.

Everyone is spending their days, flying from one thing to another, the hours piling more and more stress on them as the day gets further compressed.

You turn up at your desk, open your emails and start your day to other people’s agenda’s – your intent already out of the window.

Meetings with no end times.

Impromptu meetings.

No time for lunch.

“have you got two minutes?”

Then the rush home to a rushed dinner, in front of the telly with no conversation and then conversations about how we never have conversations.

Late to bed because “I just need to finish this bit of work”

Hitting snooze and starting the cycle over the next day.

The thing is your time can be your own.  There is a way to have the balance you want, to achieve perspective on priorities and just slow down to get more achieved with less stress.

Two hours with me will show you how.

Fancy slowing down to speed up?

Let me know.
